چکیده
The recovery of sludge produced in the wastewater treatment process WWTPs is often limited by high content toxic forms contaminants both an inorganic and organic nature. One options for effective world’s ever-increasing quantities sewage pyrolysis process. Thermochemical conversion emerging as a promising method treating these heterogeneous highly complex wastes with increasing research work. Pyrolysis-treated (PM) prepared at 603–615 °C was characterized pH, EC, CHN-S analysis; total bioavailable concentrations P heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Fe Zn); fractionation bound material determination presence polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). studied subjected to ecotoxicological tests (Daphnia pulex L.) cultivation (Lactuca sativa L.). Elemental analysis revealed PM: (137,600 mg/kg), Zn (2602 Cu (582 Cr (107 Pb (87 Ni (67 As (<1 Hg (<2 mg/kg) Cd mg/kg). highest values extractability investigated from PM were found cases (HCl) (Mehlich 3), not exceeding 500 mg/kg. BCR sequential extraction showed major predominantly residual fraction (F4) reducible (F2) PM. results metal bioavailability suggest that addition does negatively affect growth lettuce biomass contents plant tissues. Based on obtained, municipal seems be innovative soil additive potential alternative conventional fertilizers.

Characteristics of leachate from pyrolysis residue of sewage sludge.
The pyrolysis residue (SP) of sewage sludge (SS) produced at 500 degrees C was subjected to batch and column leaching tests to investigate the release of its organic and inorganic constituents and metals. For comparison, incineration ash (SI) obtained from a SS incinerator was also tested. Pyrolysis and incineration reduced organic matter of SS from 0.78 kg kg(-1)-dry SS to 0.16 and 0.01 kg kg(...

Various methods have been used to dispose of or utilize municipal sewage sludge (1), including incineration, landfilling, road surfacing, conversion to fertilizer, compression into building blocks, and carbonization (1-4). Since 1976 several patents have been issued on carbonization of sewage sludge and various applications of the final materials (4-7). Carbonization of sludge in the presence o...
متن کاملNutrients and Heavy Metals in Biochar Produced by Sewage Sludge Pyrolysis: Its Application in Soil Amendment
The production of sewage sludge has been sharply increasing by municipal sludge treatment plants in China. Sewage sludge is a difficult waste to manage not only due to the high quantities produced but also due to its high concentration of heavy metals and pathogens. The pyrolytic conversion of sewage sludge to biochar and then applied to the land is a sustainable management potion. Therefore, t...

The conventional sludge disposal options include landfill, application to farmland and forestry and incineration. However, since in the last decade sewage sludge and industrial sludge are being generated in increasing amounts due to the rapid urbanization and industrialization, a growing interest has been devoted in developing cost effective and renewable disposal alternatives. Among them, the ...
متن کاملRenewable Energy from Sewage Sludge
At present, the main contributors to waste to energy are municipal solid waste, manufacturing waste and landfill gas. Probably we are all most familiar with the first (MSW), which involves the garbage that the garbage men pick up regularly at our homes and which goes to a landfill, a transfer station, or incinerator. Today we are going to introduce you to something relatively new on the alterna...
